Applied UX Design Project

The Applied UX Design Project involves the application of the principles, methodologies, and tools learned in the UX design programme to an autonomously identified real-world problem or one that is proposed by an industry partner.

Research Methods

The unit will cover the main dimensions of research practice. It is expected to give you the knowledge and acumen required to understand different research approaches and skills, and enable you to complete research within the academic and professional environment.

User Interface Design

This unit explores the art and science of crafting intuitive and visually compelling digital interfaces. Throughout this unit, students delve into the fundamental principles of user interface design, gaining a deep understanding of typography, colour theory, layout, and interaction design to create interfaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly and that enhance the overall experience.

User Journey & Prototyping

This unit will empower students to create user-centred designs that exceed user expectations, delivering compelling and intuitive experiences across a diverse range of digital platforms. Throughout this unit, students will embark on a journey to understand the diverse paths users take when interacting with digital products and services. By delving into user journey frameworks and conducting in-depth user research, students will gain profound insights into user needs, preferences, motivations, pain points, and behaviours at each stage of the journey. By understanding the perspectives and experiences of users, students will be able to create products and services that are intuitive, engaging, and ultimately successful.
